Transient thermal stresses in an infinite plate with two elliptic holes

Journal Article · · J. Therm. Stresses; (United States)
A method proposed in a previous paper for solving steady-state thermal stress problems in plates with holes is extended to quasi-steady-state problems of transient thermal stress in perforated plates. To demonstrate the method, it is used to calculate transient thermal stresses near two elliptic holes with prescribed temperatures in an infinite plate. Temperature and stress distributions are shown in graphic form. 10 references.
