Flameless atomic absorption in a graphite furnace has considerable sensitivity advantages over other methods and has the potentiality for excellent precision and accuracy, as well as rapid turnaround. This paper reports a technique for direct measurement of Be in coal with no sample preparation required beyond grinding of the coal.
