A two-band model with nearly coinciding electron and hole pockets is used to study the coexistence of superconductivity with ferromagnetism and antiferromagnetism. It is shown that not only the intraband Ruderman--Kittel--Kasuya--Yosida (RKKY) interaction but also interband RKKY interaction can occur in a system whose one-electron spectrum is unstable with respect to the formation of a spin density wave and which contains localized moments. The RKKY exchange is due to triplet electron--hole pairs and the magnetization of the local moments by the spin density wave is crucial for the coexistence of superconductivity with ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic ordering. It has been shown that such coexistence can occur in a system with a specified difference between the electron and hole densities (which corresponds to a zero-power reservoir of particles). The opposite limiting case when the position of the chemical potential is fixed will be studied in the present paper (particle reservoir of infinite power). It will be shown that the solutions corresponding to the coexistence of superconductivity and magnetism are nonphysical in this limiting case. The calculated results are applied qualitatively to the experimental results on the coexistence of superconductivity and antiferromagnetic ordering in chromium alloys.
