MONEL alloy 400 sheathing: protection of offshore structures in the splash zone

MONEL Alloy 400 has provided satisfactory corrosion protection in the splash zone of drilling rigs. Attachment of the sheathing can be, by mechanical means, adhesive bonding or welding. 3 or 5 mm thick MONEL 400 sheaths are welded by mechanized MIG to the mild steel structures and have shown good resistance to physical damage as well as corrosion.
