The purpose of this volume is to describe the balance of plant (BOP) design, cost and schedule for the 2240 MW(t) HTGR-SC/C Cogeneration and Electric Generation Plants. Summary plant descriptions for the cogeneration and electrical plants are provided. The differences between the two plants are discussed. The capital costs and engineering and construction milestone schedules respectively for both the lead or first-of-a-kind and the equilibrium or Nth-of-a-kind plants are described. A presentation of the assumptions and basis for these costs and schedules is included. Costs for comparable PWR and coal plants are provided for comparison with the HTGR costs.
