Current data are presented for production, consumption, stocks, imports, exports, and prices for the principal energy commodities in the United States. Also included are data on international production of crude oil, consumption of petroleum products, petroleum stocks, and production of electricity from nuclear powered facilities. Energy production during the first 8 months of 1982 totaled 43.4 quadrillion Btu, a 2.1 percent increase compared to the level of production during the same period of 1981. Energy consumption during the first 8 months of 1982 totaled 48.0 quadrillion Btu, a 3.2-percent decrease compared to consumption during the same period of 1981. Net imports of energy during the first 8 months of 1982 totaled 4.7 quadrillion Btu, 30.1 percent below the level of the first 8 months of 1981.
