The present conference encompasses topics in the fields of flame acceleration and transition to detonation, the initiation and transmission of detonations, detonation structure and limit propagation, detonation kinetics and boundary effects, shock reflections and blast waves, condensed phase shocks and detonations, and heterogeneous explosions. Attention is given to truly unconfined deflagrations of ethylene-air mixtures, detonation diffraction by divergent channels, the influence of cellular regularity on the behavior of gaseous detonations, and the influence of physical boundaries on gaseous detonation waves. Also discussed are effective constraints for maximum entropy formalism in gas explosion systems, direct initiation of detonation in a decane spray, and the influence of additives on the detonation characteristics of tetranitromethane.
