Gasdynamics of detonations and explosions. International colloquium on gasdynamics of explosions and reactive systems, 7th, Gottingen, West Germany, August 20-24, 1979, technical papers
Wall and confinement effects are considered along with liquid and solid phase phenomena, the cellular structure of detonations, and detonations at moderate pressures. Attention is given to turbulent flame propagation and acceleration in the presence of obstacles, the detonation of unconfined fuel aerosols, the initiation of unconfined gas detonations in hydrocarbon-air mixtures by a sympathetic mechanism, a detection method for the deflagration to detonation transition in gaseous explosive mixtures, the influence of the nature of confinement on gaseous detonation, mechanical effects of gaseous detonations on a flexible confinement, the pressure evolution behind spherical and hemispherical detonations in gases, molecular dynamics of shock and detonation phenomena in condensed matter, TNT explosions in a hard vacuum, the effect of the shock-wave front on the origin of reaction, induction delay and detonation failure diameter of nitromethane mixtures, the critical area concept for the initiation of a solid high explosive by the impact of small projectiles, the shock initiation of hydrazine mononitrate, the characterization of mass flow rates for various percussion primers, the diffraction of a planar detonation in various fuel-oxygen mixtures at an area change, and the detonation characteristics of two ethylene-oxygen-nitrogen mixtures containing aluminum particles in suspension.
