Electromagnetic behavior of a FIR waveguide laser

If the geometry of a given laser cavity is known, it is possible to determine all modes propagating within it. Attention is presently given to the electromagnetic behavior of a far-IR (FIR) waveguide laser, determining on the basis of the Gaussian pump IR beam all excited and continuous IR modes. The reflection and the transmission coefficients of the coupling holes are computed. Output spectra conditioned by cavity length, and resonant mode output beams, are established for each FIR mode. 12 references.
