Atmospheric LPG storage tank and process
This method can be used to control the composition of liquefied petroleum gas stored under refrigeration at atmospheric pressure. When a portion of the ethane content vaporizes, these vapors are condensed and then returned to the container. A means is provided for moving vapor from the storage tank, since this storage tank is designed for operation at 1 atm pressure and damage could result if the pressure increases 1/2 lb above atmospheric pressure. The liquid return means that is used to return condensed vapors back to the storage tank is designed so that it will thoroughly mix the returning liquids with the liquid in the tank to reduce the tendency toward temperature stratification within the tank.
