Electric power supply and demand, 1984-1993: 1984 annual data summary report for the Regional Reliability Councils of NERC

Book ·
OSTI ID:6466076
The projections summarized in this report are not conceptions of NERC, but rather are aggregations of the forecasts developed early in 1984 by the individual utility members of each Regional Reliability Council. The data on projected peak demand and planned resources for 1984-1993, and on planned additions and retirements of generating units, were extracted from the April 1, 1984 Coordinated Bulk Power Supply Program (EP-411) reports submitted to the US Department of Energy by each of the nine Regional Reliability Councils. The data on 1983-1993 generating capability by fuel, electric energy generation by fuel, fossil fuel requirements, planned conversions of units to coal-firing, planned additions of transmission lines, and 1983 actual peak demand are reported directly to NERC by the Regional Reliability Councils. Derivations of data compiled in the other tables of this report are described where necessary in the text accompanying each table. It is to be understood that this report is intended to provide projections, not predictions, at a given point in time. Uncertainties exist. Changing circumstances may vitiate certain assumptions underlying these projections. The most consequential of these uncertainties are discussed.
