This paper describes the ceiling design of a 52-foot office building in Atlanta. Both energy efficient and aesthetically pleasing, reflective coffered ceilings incorporate twinelement luminaires which provide both ambient and task level lighting. The ceiling has helped keep the building's power consumption down to 65,000 BTU's per square foot per year. The ceiling comprises five-by-five foot modules with parabolic luminaires in each 16-inch deep coffer. The system combines an OwensCorning Fiberglas acoustical ceiling with a Carrier Corporation air handling system and an Edison Price lighting system.
