Air pollution control, Part IV

Book ·
OSTI ID:6457951
In this fourth volume of Air Pollution Control, the contributions are intended to extend the range of subjects covered in Volumes I to III. The effects of urban meteorology on air pollution distribution are discussed in Chapter 1 and the results of some experimental work in the field are presented. Current knowledge of the effect of air pollutants on plants is surveyed in Chapter 2 and on metals and coatings in Chapter 3. The effect of pollutants can often be accurately predicted with present knowledge, and this information has been summarized in these chapters. The last three chapters discuss pollution control equipment. Mist eliminators and the particular design problems associated with removal of liquid droplets are presented in Chapter 4. Chapter 5 discusses particulate removal by filtration, with an emphasis on equipment selection. Chapter 6 presents a review of air and gas cleaning by incineration of contaminants. A subject index is included. Each chapter has been abstracted and indexed for EDB/ERA.
