Radio wave scattering by artificial quasiperiodic irregularities in the ionosphere

Expressions have been obtained for the amplitude and phase of the scattering coefficient of a monochromatic radio wave, scattered by artificial quasiperiodic irregularities of the ionospheric plasma, in the presence of an electron density gradient and at a point of spatial synchronism. The scattering of a Gaussian-shaped pulse is considered. The dependence of the phase modulation of a back-scattered signal on the duration and carrier frequency of the test pulse, on the density gradient, and on the heating wave frequency is investigated.
