Report and recommendations of the Task Force on Energy Systems Research to the Technical Advisory Committee on Research and Development

This Energy Systems Research and Development Agenda is aimed at providing the essential social, economic, institutional and environmental framework needed for policy formulation both public and private. Implementation of this agenda will provide much of the information needed to assess the impacts of the technological research recommended by other committees of the Energy Systems Task Force. The scope of this agenda covers research into rate regulation, industrial incentives, energy industry structure and market forces, world energy economy and national security, policy analysis, quantification of impacts and benefit, and environmental policy and law implications. Indispensable to most of these research areas is the development of econometric models linked to a versatile energy data system. A separate section has been devoted to research and development in this area.
