Photovoltaic Program Branch: Annual report, FY 1986

This report summarizes the progress of the Photovoltaic Program Branch of the Solar Energy Research Institute from October 1, 1985, through September 30, 1986. The branch is responsible for the management of the subcontracted portion of SERI's PV Advanced Research and Development Project. In FY 1986, this included more than 60 subcontracts with a total funding of approximately $12 million. The technical sections of the report cover the main areas of DOE/SERI's subcontracted program: the Amorphous Silicon Research Project, Polycrystalline Thin Films, High-Efficiency Crystalline Cells, the New Ideas Program, and the University Participation Program. A list of active subcontracts and a bibliography of relevant publications are also included. The technical summaries of each subcontracted program area provide a discussion of approaches, major accomplishments in FY 1986, and future research directions.
