Differential cross sections for (d, /sup 8/Be) reactions on /sup 19/F nuclei

Differential cross sections were measured for the reaction /sup 19/F(d,/sup 8/Be)/sup 13/C in the angular range theta/sub c.m./ from 90 /sup 0/ to 160 /sup 0/, using a cyclotron beam of 13.6--MeV deuterons and the time-of-flight technique. The data were analyzed within the framework of the Hauser-Feshbach statistical theory and the DWBA, taking into account the finite range of the interaction and effects due to recoil. It is shown that the experimental data are satisfactorily described by the theory involving the direct transfer of an /sup 11/B quasicluster from a 4P/sub 1/2/ state in /sup 19/F to a 2S/sub 3/2/ state in the d+/sup 11/B..-->../sup 13/C system.
