Thrust distributions near T = 1

The effect of the emission of soft quantum-chromodynamic radiation on the thrust (T) distribution for the process e/sup +/e/sup -/..-->..qq-barg is examined. The analysis goes beyond the usual leading-logarithmic summation analysis of the q and q-bar jets, since we allow for the development of a hard-gluon jet and we are able to satisfy the constraints of momentum conservation and kinematics.
