Low pressure responsive tester valve with ratchet
This patent describes an annulus pressure responsive tester valve apparatus, comprising: a tool housing having a central flow passage extending therethrough from the top to the bottom thereof; a power piston slidably disposed in the housing; a first pressure conducting passage means for communicating a well annulus with a first side of the power piston; a second pressure conducting passage means for communicating the well annulus with a second side of the power piston; and retarding means, disposed in the second pressure conducting passage means for delaying communication of a sufficient portion of a change in well annulus pressure to the second side of the power piston for a sufficient time to allow a pressure differential between the first side and the second side of the power piston to move the power piston relative to the housing.
