The Presidential energy initiatives: Some relevant policy considerations

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6406190
This research addresses some relevant policy considerations for Presidential energy initiatives. Three diverse areas of concern include: (1) estimates of the price elasticity of supply (supply response to price changes) for petroleum and natural gas from future discoveries in the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) and Alaska; (2) estimates of the impact of deregulated domestic petroleum prices on energy industry profits and capital financing requirements; and (3) estimates of the number and location of future coal mine developments necessary to meet stipulated consumption levels and sulfur constraints.
