Features of the quark-gluon mechanism of production of C-even heavy quarkonium particles in hadron collisions
The quark-gluon channel q+q(q-bar)..-->..chi/sup (//sup J//sup )/+q(q-bar) of production of C-even states of heavy quarkonium particles QQ-bar(chi/sup (//sup 0//sup )/,chi/sup (//sup 2//sup )/, and chi/sup (//sup 1//sup )/ mesons) in hadron collisions is studied. It is shown that the nonrelativistic character of the QQ-bar system and the Landau-Yang rules lead to qualitatively different spectra for chi/sup (//sup 0//sup ,//sup 2//sup )/ mesons and chi/sup (//sup 1//sup )/ mesons. In sharp contrast to the case of chi/sup (//sup 0//sup ,//sup 2//sup )/, whose spectra in lowest order of perturbation theory have a pole singularity proportional1/q/sup 2//sub perpendicular/ as q/sub perpendicular/..-->..0, the spectrum of chi/sup (//sup 1//sup )/ has a logarithmic pole proportionallnq/sup -2//sub perpendicular/.
