Isotopic invariance and theoretical ambiguities in the. pi. N scattering amplitude

The following question is studied: Assuming isotopic invariance and that the differential cross section sigma and the polarization P have been measured for the elastic channels, in what way are the remaining ambiguities in the ..pi..N scattering amplitudes narrowed down by measurement of sigma/sub ex/ and P/sub ex/ in the charge-exchange channel.
