Solid electrolytes in the Li/sub 4/GeO/sub 4/-Li/sub 2/WO/sub 4/ system

Studies of the solid solution lithium-ion systems were expanded to include the system lithium orthogermanate and lithium orthotungstate. The solid electrolytes were synthesized, conductivity was measured, x-ray phase analysis was performed with a diffractometer and filtered copper-potassium radiation, and a derivatograph determined the thermal differentials. The characteristics of solid electrolytes of this system in the high-temperature region were found to be typical. However, at low temperatures the electrolytes are among the most highly conducting, and at room temperature they were found to exhibit specific resistances.
