Practical radiochromatographic assay for cholesterol epoxide hydrase. [/sup 14/C tracer technique]

Journal Article · · Anal. Biochem.; (United States)

A method for the assay of cholesterol epoxide hydrase activity is described. The assay involves the thin-layer chromatographic separation and quantitation of radiolabeled cholestan-3..beta..,5..cap alpha..,6..cap alpha..-epoxide and its major hydration product, cholestan-3..beta..,5..cap alpha..,6..beta..-triol. Radiochromatographic scanning is employed to quantitate the reaction. The procedure is sensitive, rapid, and nondestructive.
