Automatic facility safe chart generation through the use of a computer-aided drafting system

This paper describes the development, use, and purpose of a computer program designed to create safety analysis function evaluation (SAFE) charts. The SAFE chart generation program is designed to work in conjunction with advanced computer-aided drafting design (CADD) software. This paper also describes many common problems that occur during manual creation of safe charts and explains how the program can reduce or, in some cases, eliminate these problems.
