New rutile solid solutions, Ti /sub 1-4x/ Li /sub x/ M /sub 3x/ O/sub 2/: M = Nb, Ta, Sb

Three extensive new rutile solid solution series have been prepared in which Ti/sup 4 +/ is replaced by a combination of Li/sup +/ and a pentavalent cation: Nb/sup 5 +/, Ta/sup 5 +/, Sb/sup 5 +/. The formulae are Ti /sub 1-4x/ Li /sub x/ M /sub 3x/ O/sub 2/: 0 < x less than or equal to 0.15, M = Ta; 0 < x less than or equal to 0.17,M = Nb; 0
