Well bore treating fluid for acidizing formations (in German)

Patent ·
OSTI ID:6345809
When acidizing calcareous formations containing iron compounds, the iron compounds are dissolved first, but they precipitate again when the pH of the acid increases as the acid is spent. According to this invention, this can be avoided by adding to the acid an inhibitor (general formula is given). This inhibitor can be used either in this form, or in the form of its water-soluble salts. The inhibitor is used in concentrations between 0.6 and 11 kg/cu mu. As a specific example, 1-hydroxy-ethylidenediphosphonic acid is mentioned. (5 claims)
