The Fourth Quadrangular Conference on the subject brought together international experts from government, academia and business. The participants examined the existing global energy/econmic issues and available policy options. Seven panels addressed the following issues: international cooperation in sharing energy problems and opportunities; how to supply world oil needs; international political dimensions of nuclear energy; the economic problem; an American case study of coal; new frontiers in energy technology; and security dimensions. A summary of the panel presentations is followed in the Appendix by a discussion of Mexico's oil trends and prospects. 62 references, 7 tables. (DCK)
