ORGDP (Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant) long-range environmental management plan: Executive summary

The purpose is to provide the ORGDP and Energy Systems, DOE-ORO, DOE-Headquarters (DOE-HQ), and their staffs with a comprehensive plan that (1) identifies problem areas of environmental management and proposed funding levels required to maintain compliance, (2) reviews environmental regulations and their applicability to ORGDP, (3) discusses compliance status with these regulations, and (4) explains the strategies and programs formulated to solve environmental problems and keep ORGDP in compliance. The document is designed to help managers make day-to-day decisions concerning environmental management. It is divided into four fundamental areas of environmental management: Air Pollution Control, Water Pollution Control, Solid Waste Management, and Remedial Actions. Specific projects identified for each of the programs are discussed in detail along with problem areas that require additional attention.
