Conference · · ASME Soc. Mech. Eng. Fall Meet. Prepr.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6343909
A study of the feasibility of coal-transportation by slurry pipeline from Kentucky to Georgia and Florida is in progress under Florida Gas Co., and several of the major utilities in Florida and Georgia. The major problem areas that need to be assessed and resolved, determining the availability of the required technology, pipeline starting point and routing, carrier water source and disposal, need of federal or state legislation to obtain the pipeline right-of-way and railroad crossing permits, the appropriate time frame for project completion, and financing, are discussed with favorable recommendations.
