Determination of certain chlorophenols by the method of reagents formed in situ

Optimal conditions were found for the complexation of 3-chloro-, 4-chloro-, and 2,4-dichlorophenols in the chlorophenol-NaNO/sub 2/-Co/sup 2 +/ systems in the presence of excess of metal ions. An extraction spectrophotometric method for determining microgram quantities of these phenols has been proposed, as well as a method for the selective determination of 4-chloro-phenol in the presence of 3-chlorophenol and total 3- and 4-chlorophenols.
