Harvesting of close-spaced short-rotation woody biomass
Efforts to date were concerned with identifying the characteristics of prospective woody biomass farms; the requirements for harvested wood to provide feedstock for various conversion processes; the characteristics of harvesting, collecting, transporting, and storing equipment as used by the forest products and agriculture industries; the applicability of the foregoing equipment to close spaced, short-rotation biomass farms; and the modelling of alternative systems linking biomass farms and biomass conversion plants.
