Holston-Pantex LX-17 formulation comparison
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:6316767
A comparison was made between a 1270 kg LX-17 lot formulated at Holston and smaller LX-17 lots formulated at Pantex. Chemical, thermal, mechanical sensitivity and physical property analyses were compared. The Holston LX-17 lot pressed to a slightly higher density, had less growth, and gave a higher strain level. Otherwise, there were no significant differences found between the Holston and Pantex-formulated material.
