K-shell ionization of elements /sub 29/Cu to /sub 37/Rb for 0. 4--3. 8-MeV/amu /sup 10//sub 5/B-ion bombardment

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev., A; (United States)
In this Comment we report measurements of K-shell x-ray production cross section, K..beta../K..cap alpha.. x-ray intensity ratios and K..cap alpha.. and K..beta.. x-ray energy shifts for /sub 29/Cu, /sub 32/Ge, /sub 35/Br, and /sub 37/Rb for 4--38-MeV /sup 10//sub 5/B-ion bombardment. The dominant contribution to target K-shell ionization is believed to be direct Coulomb ionization. Electron-capture contributions to target K-shell ionization are expected to be < or = 7%.
