Thermodiffusion of copper atoms in nonstoichiometric copper sulfide and selenide

The authors investigate thermodiffusion of copper in nonstoichiometric copper sulfide and selenide in a wide range of compositions, to determine the heat of transport of copper atoms, and to determine the atomic concentration-gradient values of copper along the length of the copper sulfide and selenide samples in a temperature field. They determine that the values obtained for the heats of transport do not agree with the values of the heats of transport of cations obtained by the universally used method of the temperature dependence of the thermo-emf.
