We describe a system of two hadrons in which the quarks can be either inside the hadrons or in a constituent quark bag (CQB). The wave function is written as the sum of a cluster component and a CQB component. The resulting equations coincide with those obtained earlier in the two-channel model. The hadron-hadron interaction which emerges contains an energy dependence with a known coefficient, which is equal to the admixture of the hadron-hadron component in the CQB. For the NN system the coefficient, which has been calculated earlier, corresponds with the experimental energy dependence of the phase shifts.
