A microscopic model with a potential internucleon interaction has been used to calculate correlation functions for the reaction Ne+U at 400 MeV/nucleon. Some of the functions turned out to be sensitive to the type of NN interaction. In order to select the NN potential most appropriate for the model it is necessary to set up an experiment to measure the coplanarity function. Comparison of correlations between slow and fast fragments with experiment will permit a preference to be assigned to one of the NN potentials used in the model, which is important in view of the strong dependence on it of the dynamics of the compression of nuclear matter in the collision of nuclei.
