Double charge exchange of the. pi. mesons in the /sup 3/He nucleus

Double charge exchange of pions in the /sup 3/He nucleus is studied by means of the method of hyperspherical functions in the coordinate representation. It is shown that the final-state interaction between the fragments of the total disintegration of the nuclear system is decisive and leads to a maximum in the differential cross section at low energies of their relative motion. The cross section satisfactorily converges in the hypermoments of the initial and final states. The experimental data can be described satisfactorily.
