Oil and gas developments in eastern and northwestern Colorado in 1983

Journal Article · · Am. Assoc. Pet. Geol., Bull.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6296207
Drilling activity in eastern and northwestern Colorado was down slightly from the 1981 peak of 1581 wells to 1430 exploration and development wells in 1983. One-third of the total wells, or 476 wells, were exploration tests with a success rate of 31.0%. The majority of the activity was in the Denver basin and Las Animas arch area of eastern Colorado. In this area, the significant 1983 exploration discoveries extend Paleozoic production from the Las Animas arch into the Denver basin and established new areas of shallower Cretaceous production. 1 figure, 2 tables.
