High velocities in the new supernova remnant in Cygnus

Interferometry of a bright region in the newly discovered Cygnus supernova remnant has been performed in the H..cap alpha.. line with a high-contrast Fabry--Perot etalon and a contact image tube. The gas in the remnant exhibits fast internal motions, reaching Vatsub LSRatl100 km/sec.
