Kilngas system to fuel future combined-cycle plants

A major market for the Kilngas coal gasification technology is power generation via an integrated gasification combined-cycle power plant. Using a pressurised ported rotary kiln as the reactor, the Kilngas system efficiently produces a low-Btu gas from high-sulphur bituminous coal. The possible FGCC plant configurations, developed by Allis-Chalmers indicate the capital outlays, operating and fuel costs, and overall cost of generation for various plant sizes and power requirements.
