Studies of mechanical properties and irradiation damage nucleation of HTGR graphites. Final report
Since the submission of the last report (COO-2712-6) work has concentrated on the examination of the effects of oxidation on the compressive strengths of graphites doped with iron, vanadium and calcium. The purpose of the investigation was to determine the relative effects of the impurities on the rates of oxidation in air, CO/sub 2/ and H/sub 2/O and the resultant reduction in compressive strength.
