Top quark: New results from the Tevatron

We present the recent results on the measurements of t{bar t} production cross section in p{bar p} collisions at {radical}(s)=1.8TeV and the mass of the top quark by the two collider experiments, DO/ and CDF at Fermilab. The results are based on analyses of {approximately}125pb{sup {minus}1} of data collected by each experiment. The DO/ measurements are {sigma}(p{bar p}{r_arrow}t{bar t})=5.5{plus_minus}1.8pb and m{sub t}=173.3{plus_minus}5.6(stat.){plus_minus}6.2(syst.)GeV/c{sup 2} (the cross section is measured at m{sub t}=173.3GeV/c{sup 2}). The CDF measurements are 7.5{sub {minus}1.6}{sup +1.9}pb and 176.8{plus_minus}4.4(stat.){plus_minus}4.8(syst.)GeV/c{sup 2} respectively. The two experiments have combined their mass measurements to m{sub t}=175.6{plus_minus}5.5GeV/c{sup 2}. {copyright} {ital 1997 American Institute of Physics.}
