Automated phase meter based on an Elektronika-60 computer

The suite consists of a digital cumulative phase meter which contains a digital phase meter and phase-cycle counter together with buffer registers, a parallel interface, and an Elektronika microcomputer. The measurable cumulative phase shift range is 0-2pi times 2/sup 16/ rad and a resolving power of 2pi/2/sup 14/ at 8 MHz. The phase meter consists of a board built into the microcomputer which receives and corrects the data and also provides statistical processing and display. The suite has been used in laser interferometer systems for measuring small linear displacements and dimensions of submicron order.
