Many nuclear-physics experiments are serviced by CAMAC-compatible mini- and microcomputers of the SM family and the Elektronika-60. The Elektronika-60 microcomputer has gained wide use due to its availability, a large group of peripheral devices, software compatibility with computers of the SM series, and the presence of good systems software. This paper describes a two-processor system in which the main processor (M2 of Elektronika-60 microcomputer) provides preliminary processing of data while the auxiliary processor (Elektronika N MS 11100.0 microcomputer) is used for data input and storage. The two-processor dataacquisition system substantially expands the possibilities of the microcomputers in data input and processing, as compared with simple means.
