Support for LNG ship tanks

Patent ·
OSTI ID:6274592
Chicago Bridge and Iron Co.'s new combined tank and support system holds the tank securely while permitting horizontal thermal contraction-expansion. The combined tank/support system is located about a circular horizontal section of the cargo tank. The support system consists of a number of essentially identical composite supporting units spaced around the circular horizontal section, with each support unit joined to the tank and to a base. Each support unit has a vertical key with radial contact faces located between, and in slidable contact with, a pair of opposing vertical faces of a keyway. Each support unit also has a vertical coupling comprising a sleeve with a cylindrical element located inside. Either the sleeve or the cylindrical element is stationary; the other is rotatable about a vertical axis during assembly of the support system. Either the vertical key or the keyway is joined to the rotatable element (the sleeve or the cylindrical element) during assembly; the other adjust responsibilities for environmental studies within the Deyzed for total S content. Factors responsible for generating acid mine drainage were related to sedimentary models, and reactor pyrite vals shown to further reduce emission from several trace elements as compared to conventional coal combustion processes. Lower combustion temperatures in fluidized-bed combustion significantly reduced emmilar to vitrain in ash percentage. Because of the unusually high percentages of U and Ge and the low ash of the coals tested, the author felt that the U and Ge might be associated wire also observed with lower radiation doses (200 and 400 rad).
