Cooperation in the pacific basin area of codes and standards

The concept of the Pacific Basin Nuclear Cooperation Committee (PBNCC) was introduced at the 5th Pacific Basin Nuclear Conference (5th PBNC). The working Group on Codes and Standards (WGCS) was one of the originally designated working groups when the PBNCC was first established. The purpose of this paper is to describe the evolution of the Working Group on Codes and Standard's statement of mission and to describe the plans which are in place carry out this mission. It is acknowledged that the WGCS's ultimate goal is an ambitious one, but it is felt that it can be achieved, given the continued hard work of the members of the group and the continued support of the PBNCC's Steering Committee.
