Drag-reducing agents-3: how active, passive drag affect DRA injections

Journal Article · · Oil Gas J.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6268056
This article further examines applications of drag-reducing agents more deeply and how active and passive drag can affect DRA injections. Line drag is the only drag acting in a pipeline system which can be reduced with a DRA and is therefore the active drag. Other effects that act as a drag are present in pipelines and must be overcome if a desired increase in flow is to be achieved. There are two of these passive drags, station and static, and both are discussed in this article.
