This patent describes a diesel engine lubricating oil composition comprising a major amount of a hydrocarbon lubricating oil and from 0.1-5.0 weight percent of the reaction product obtained by reacting at a temperature range of 50/sup 0/C-200/sup 0/C substantially equimolar amounts of an N-acyl sarcosine reactant and a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic azole reactant.
