We present measurements of electrical resitivity {rho}({ital T}), specific heat {ital C}({ital T}), entropy {ital S}({ital T}), and magnetic susceptibility {chi}({ital T}) as functions of temperature {ital T} for the alloy system Y{sub 1{minus}{ital x}}U{sub {ital x}}Pd{sub 3}. For {ital x}=0.2, {rho}({ital T})/{rho}(0) is almost linear in {ital T} for 0.2{le}{ital T}{le}20 K, and {ital C}({ital T})/{ital T}{similar to}{minus}ln({alpha}{ital T}) for 0.6{lt}{ital T}{lt}16 K. Also, the added molar entropy per {ital U}, {Delta}{ital S}({ital T}){minus}{Delta}{ital S}(0) appears to saturate to ({ital R}/2)ln(2), suggesting that {Delta}{ital S}(0){approx}({ital R}/2)ln(2). We argue that our data provide comprehensive evidence in a dilute alloy for the two-channel quadrupolar Kondo effect ({ital T}{sub {ital K}}{approx}42 K) with concomitant marginal Fermi liquid'' phenomenology.
